BACK GROUND: Cycling was never a day to day activity for me. The passion and drive I have for making the sport of cycling the next best thing to do in JAMAICA came from just getting upset one night and grabbing my bike. At the time this was a mountain bike/MTB, and I rode about 30 miles to get away from the environment I was in. From that point I fell in love with the sport and I have never turned back since. Looking on from the outside it seems that cycling is just a recreational sport, however, being a part of it I am trying my best to push it to the forefront of sporting activities in JAMAICA.

BACK GROUND: I started out never liking cycling. I thought it was a very boring sport, that was until I started to learn what it was about. I am now an avid cycling watcher, I enjoy watching both road and track races. My favorite time of year is Summer when I am able to watch Tour De France races and the unfortunate crashes. I am now also a cyclist myself, where I occasionally use Zwift to enhance my workouts. Cycling has not just grown on me but has become apart of me and I am glad to be apart of this community

BACK GROUND: Mario Lemus was born on September 12,2003 in the United States. He is of Columbian and Guatemalan descent. He is a creative person that thinks outside the box. He is currently a student at Broward College where he is enrolled in the aviation program to become an aviation mechanic. His passion for the sport saw him becoming a competitive cyclist, entering some of the toughest races South Florida has on the calendar. Starting at the ground level, with the potential to grow through the classes, he sits in category 5. His ambition is to become stronger, faster and to be as strategic in his events, while improving his consistency in order to win his races. Apart from riding, In his spare time he loves to go fishing and hanging out with his friends. He also loves exploring new things and places.
One of his favorite things to do is the Big Wheel Tuesday/Thursday evening ride and enjoy the after ride festivities.

Maikel has been an avid cyclist/ runner since a very young age. Accomplishments throughout his career has been Florida champion in the sprint duathlon 2014, 2015 and 2016. He has also won separate half Ironman duathlon races. He is very dedicated to training when times are available. And now looking to a new challenge on the track and road.
